This blog is in cooperation with Marella Cruises.
When approaching the ship you instantly recognise the wave livery that is now synonymous with Marella and if you’ve sailed with them before, you sense that your second home isn’t far away.
From the friendly welcome at the airport through to the check in staff at the cruise port and finally boarding, you are greeted with a smile at every turn, which comes as standard with your cruise.
As soon as we boarded we set about exploring to check out the offerings on Marella’s newest ship.
A first for Marella is The Kitchens which is a new take on the buffet offering 8 different options which take you around the world from Asian dishes to good old British grub: there is something for everyone. The crew now serve you which may help with portion control, which some of us can be guilty of struggling with when on a ship. The new method of serving food is efficient and we are yet to queue to be served, it surely must help with lowering food wastage too.
Other new venues include: The Arts House, The Summer House and the Electric Rooms all offering somewhere to escape and relax to depending on your mood.
All the public spaces have been refreshed to a high standard with plenty of vibrant colours to distinguish the different venues on board. We really like the modern twist on the decor and think it will certainly be a hit with future guests.
As we continued our exploration we came across the familiar Flutes bar which you’ll also find onboard Marella Explorer 2. This bar is in a nice quiet location on Voyager and is the perfect spot for a pre-dinner drink. There are plenty of other Marella favourites onboard to enjoy such as Snack Shack, Latitude and Vista main dining rooms plus Squid and Anchor.
