When arriving by cruise ship, you will dock in the Belgian port of Zeebrugge where you may wish to explore the local sites. The majority of tourists however, will head for the ever-popular city: Bruges.
How do we get there?
There are 3 main options and it will depend on your budget, as well as your confidence!
Option 1 £££: Book an excursion through your cruise line. This is likely to be the most expensive option, however it will offer you the safety net of the ship won’t sail without you! Hassle-free and in essence, you are taken door-to-door. A popular choice, especially if you haven’t visited before. Opt for a half or full day tour; a great way to learn about the city.
Option 2 ££: Book onto ‘Bruges on your own’; a coach will drop you in Bruges. This will be cheaper than option 1 and you will be able to do your own thing in the city without as many time restraints. Prices for this will vary depending on your cruise line but an easy option to get from A-B. The journey should take around 25 minutes.
Option 3 £: Feeling confident? Take the train. This might not be the most convenient choice but it will definitely be the cheapest one. Ensure you give yourself enough time as you don’t want to be stranded while your ship heads to the next port!
Things to consider:
All passengers will need to hop on the free shuttle from the ship to the port gates first, no matter which route you will be taking.
Once in Bruges, you will need to walk around 15 minutes from the drop-off point to get to the centre.
The pick- up point is the same location as the drop-off.
We hope these tips help you to choose the right option for you!
