For our first Cunard experience, this four night itinerary gave us a taste of what the cruise line had to offer whilst exploring the latest addition to the Cunard fleet: the Pinnacle Class, Queen Anne.
We had heard so much about this world renowned British cruise line and certainly enjoyed visiting the Golden Lion pub, experiencing the White Star Service and of course getting a selfie with THE red funnel.

Stateroom: Oceanview
We selected cabin 9004, which offered a unique forward view, providing a great vantage point when sailing, especially when entering Rotterdam. Although sold as a standard Oceanview cabin, it is certainly bigger and offered plenty of space compared to most cabins of this type. If you want peace and quiet then this cabin is in the perfect location as there were no disturbances during the night. Stocked with Cunard robes and slippers, it was easy to settle in and feel comfortable. With luxury Penhaligon toiletries including body wash and body lotion, you can save packing weight by using these amenities. So if you’re looking for a bigger cabin, at no extra cost… this could be for you!
Favourite bar: The Chart Room
Designed with a circular bar for you to sit at and chat to the crew, this bar is situated in the heart of the ship, just off the Grand Lobby and is the perfect spot for people watching day or night. There’s also ample seating surrounding the bar if you fancy retreating away to take in the view or read a book; the Chart Room is popular throughout the day serving coffees alongside your favourite tipple. When the strings are being played in the Grand Lobby, the ambiance goes up another notch. A particular favourite was the Cunard Gold (served on draught or in a can) as well as the Queen Anne gin.

Did you know? Cunard have three beers to pick from: Black, Red and Gold. If you’re a Guinness fan then Cunard Black is for you or perhaps you’re an ale fan then Cunard Red will satisfy your craving. If Pilsner is your choice then opt for Cunard Gold.

Biggest surprise: Noir @ Bright Lights Society
There’s been a murder! But who dunnit?! Be sure to book into this immersive theatre show via the MyCunard app for an hour long performance of singing, acting and comedy. If you fancy it then you can also be part of the show… but fear not if that isn’t for you, you can opt out before the show even begins. Certainly one not to be missed!
Don’t miss: Afternoon tea
A staple of a Cunard voyage and a quintessential British tradition. At 15:00 the procession begins with the waiters bringing out the teapots and pouring tea at each table, which is then followed by a selection of sweet and savoury delights, not forgetting the scones. The tea continues to be refilled as you make your way through the delicacies you’ve been served; the onboard orchestra play in the background to elevate the experience even further.
Top tip: Make sure you get a seat early!

Would we sail on Queen Anne again? Absolutely! But next time we would love to be able to spend more time onboard!
