The A-Z of Celebrity Beyond: things not to be missed!

It can be quite daunting boarding a ship for the first time so we’ve listed our favourite hotspots for you to check out.

A is for AFT

She really does have a beautiful aft! One thing is for sure, you’ll certainly be wanting to capture the rear of this ship! If you’re after a ‘proper’ balcony then booking a Sunset Veranda will be the best choice for you.

B is for BEYOND

Celebrity Beyond really is BEYOND; the ship cost a total of £1 billion to build and in our opinion she’s totally worth it! Celebrity Beyond is the third in the edge class series and is currently the largest in the fleet.

C is for CRAFT SOCIAL

A small space where the pub meets elegance; order beer flights and bites (for an additional fee) and enjoy live sport on the various screens around this venue.

D is for DESTINATION GATEWAY

The Destination Gateway really is the fanciest way to both embark and disembark a cruise ship! This space can also be used for art auctions, talks and as an extension to the Teen Centre.

E is for EDEN

Eden transforms you literally to the ‘Garden of Eden’ where for an additional fee, you can enjoy fine dining at its best where every sense will be taken on a journey. Be sure to book for sail-away and ask for a window table! This space is also home to a stunning bar and seating area where you will be able to listen to live music and watch jaw-dropping shows. Eden Café also serves lunch daily – which is not to be missed and breakfast – on certain days during your cruise.

F is for FINE CUT

Situated overlooking the Grand Plaza, at Fine Cut you will be treated to mouthwatering surf ‘n’ turf options to tantalize anyone’s taste-buds! (Additional charges apply)

G is for GRAND PLAZA

Spanning 3 decks, The Grand Plaza was inspired by Italy and is a popular venue come day or night. You will be offered a different experience each time you visit: Martini Bar shows, Silent Discos, live music… the list goes on. You may even be lucky enough to see Captain Kate don her red-soled stilettoes for a show not to be missed!

H is for HOSPITALITY

The crew… from Housekeeping to Waiters, Barmen to Officers… you will be warmly welcomed at every turn by all members of crew onboard Celebrity Beyond: they will go above and BEYOND for you!

I is for INFINITE VERANDA

The Edge Stateroom with Infinite Veranda offers a unique concept where by the click of a button, your entire living space becomes your veranda, allowing you to feel up close and personal with the waters edge. These staterooms give you the sense of modern luxury.

J is for JOGGING TRACK

Whether a stroll around the open decks to take in the views is on your to-do list or a jog is on your morning routine, the jogging track onboard is certainly unique as you complete the figure of eight path across two decks.

K is for Captain KATE

Captain Kate McCue was the first American woman to be named Captain of a ‘Mega’ cruise ship. She will share her Mum’s wonderful wisdom daily and often be seen with her beloved Bug cat not far behind her! Captain Kate will teach you that Celebrity Beyond is 100% a cruise SHIP; you can put a boat on a SHIP but not a SHIP on a boat!

L is for LIFEBOAT

The most luxurious lifeboats at sea, costing $1 million EACH! The lifeboats also serve as tender boats in ports where the ship is unable to dock and has to anchor. Complete with air-conditioning, cushioned seats and TV screens, they really make it a tender experience like no other.

M is for MAGIC CARPET

The revolutionary Magic Carpet can be found on the edge of all Celebrity Edge class ships and is approximately the size of a tennis court. The striking orange structure is certainly unmissable and can move up and down to different decks. The Magic Carpet is often used as a bar and what an impressive place to sit and enjoy a drink! It is also used to support the tendering process and makes this a seamless experience. If you’re lucky and if the weather allows, ‘Dinner on the Edge’ is also offered at an additional charge where you can enjoy a meal on the edge of the ship!

N is for NAVIGATION

Celebrity Beyond’s bridge is completely paperless and completes all tasks digitally. We would certainly recommend booking onto the Inside Access tour where you will be able to stand at the helm and not only take in the views but learn more about cruise ship navigation.

O is for OCEANVIEW CAFE

The best buffet at sea! Yes, it really is… serving breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and of course those late night snacks, it really does have something for everyone. Even on a busy sea day, the different stations allow for free-flowing movement – do not miss out on the extravaganza on your second sea day! Each day will see a focus on a different country’s culinary delights, allowing you to sample home comforts as well as explore new flavours. A beautiful setting for a buffet. Be sure to pack elasticated waistbands!

P is for PLUNGE POOLS

Our favourite pools onboard Celebrity Beyond have got to be the two plunge pools which you will find on deck 15 adjacent to The Rooftop Garden. They hang slightly over the ship offering phenomenal views at every turn. You will also find the main pool on deck 14 (The Resort Deck), as well as the indoor adults only pool in the Solarium complete with two whirlpools. Two martini shaped hot-tubs can be found on deck 15 overlooking the main pool. If you’re lucky enough to have access to The Retreat then yes there’s another pool for you to use too! There’s a pool option for everyone!

Q is for QUEUE (what queue?!)

We’d be very surprised if you found a queue onboard Celebrity Beyond. Despite the passenger capacity being 3260, the ship just feels so spacious with so many crew members that we never had to queue! What an amazing feeling!

R is for ROOFTOP GARDEN

The most relaxing space onboard Celebrity Beyond. Away from the hustle and bustle of the Resort Deck, the Rooftop Garden offers a more tranquil place to escape whilst still enjoying the views. The central part has a large screen which shows films and sporting events, you can also join in with Thai Chi or Pickleball to name a few. Comfortable chairs and loungers surround this area alongside hundreds of REAL plants which just add to the ambience.

S is for SUNSET BAR

The clue is in the name: the ULTIMATE location to watch sunset. In fact, the ultimate location no matter what time of the day; Sunset Bar is certainly one of our favourite spots onboard and is perfect for delicious cocktails with a relaxed vibe. You will feel like you’ve been transported to a beach club inspired by Mexico and South America. Panoramic views come day or night.

T is for THEATRE

The WOW factor! A 20ft tall 4K LED screen comprising of 17 million pixels curves 110 ft around the stage. Brand new shows from the onboard entertainment team as well as guest acts will fully immerse you into the world of theatre. These shows are NOT to be missed!

U is for UNIFORM

IMMACULATE! Every single member of crew is always immaculate and we love how much pride they take in their appearance – it certainly deserves a mention!

V is for VIEW

Every morning a different view? Sounds like the perfect (floating) hotel to us. From bucket list ports to quieter, less well-known ports, there’s a location for everyone. And a bonus, if you’re not too keen on somewhere, you’ll wake up with a different view tomorrow!

W is for WAKE VIEW

Our favourite view: one to be enjoyed from either the Sunset Bar or from Eden. There is something simply mesmorising about the wake view and one we could never possible get bored of. Looking out to sea at the wake reminds you what a wonderful day in port you have had and excites you for what tomorrow will bring.

X is for Celebrity X

Ever wondered why Celebrity Cruises’ logo is an ‘X’? The inspiration came from the Greek alphabet; ‘X’ is the symbol for ‘Chi’ which is the first letter in the Greek spelling of Chandris. The Chandris Group founded the company in 1988.
